About

Global Engineer Girls Mozambique was established to address the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In Mozambique, as in many parts of the world, women who study STEM subjects at university are often underrepresented in engineering careers, with limited access to professional development opportunities and mentorship.

The program aims to empower young women to pursue and excel in engineering careers by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and support needed for long-term professional success. Through mentorship, training, and networking opportunities, GEG Mozambique connects students with experienced professionals who offer personalized guidance and career development support.

Participants also receive training in soft skills to enhance their communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities — competencies that are essential for career advancement in engineering and related fields.

GEG Mozambique is part of the international Global Engineer Girls initiative, which promotes gender equality in STEM through education, mentoring, and professional engagement. The program was launched in 2025 by Limak Cimentos SA, in collaboration with Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM).
